A Beautiful Story From My Friend Julia From Africa! Please Read.

Julia is a very good friend to MJ-Upbeat. We've known her for years! She works with children who have disabilities. Julia is doing the work of Michael....she has a beautiful heart.

She sent me this email this morning and I thought it was so cute....I asked her permission to share with the fans and she said yes. It's just a small story,,,but it touched my heart. Keep up the great work Julia! I'm proud of you.

Here's Julia's Email Below:

Hi Bonnie

I was helping the other OT run a group for kids and their parents and siblings with a syndrome where it looks like their joint has been put on backwards. Eg. The elbow is rotated so that the forearm and the hand reachs towards the back instead of the tummy. I dont remember what its called. It can happen in any joint.

So I was helping the kids make 'plate-a-saurus-es' (dinosaurs out of paper plates), and this girl (her one leg and both wrists are affected) was humming/singing softly - or I was in my own world and didnt noticed.

She looked up at me and said 'I'm singing Michael Jackson'. When I asked her which MJ she said 'Michael Jackson' as if I was the moron who did know who she was talking about. Then she got shy and hummed even more softly so I couldnt hear her.

This reminded me of how universal MJ is - A little girl with severe disability of 6 or so years old, living in a relatively poorer area of South Africa has heard of and is singing Michael Jackson.

It made me smile! It made her smile to make a toasted sandwich on her own...

Love
