Just To Have You Here

A dance, a song brings it back
The wind whispers your name
And somehow I know things are
Never gonna be the same.
Our man in the mirror,
Just to have you here...

The strains of "Clair De Lune" play
Pick me up and take me away.
A favorite tune we shared,
On this first of May.
As I shed for you a tear
Just to have you here...

Deep within my heart you
Are hidden from the outside.
Life goes on, ever changing.
Like the rise and fall of the tide.
Always and forever, like you, my dear.
If only to have you here...

Somehow you manage to come shining through,
And I never doubt your presence.
The magic is all around, if you really look.
I've remembered your words ever since...
The message couldn't be more clear
Just to have you here...

I sense your wonder in the little things.
The scamper of a bunny across the lawn.
The cool caress of the breeze on my shoulder.
The coming of the brightest dawn.
That's how I feel you near.
Once more, just to have you here...
