'A Single Rose'
A single rose in a sea of weeds
To fulfill our fields needs.
A single bloom left alone,
To spread the seeds it's sown.
Majestic, it's crown lifts to the sun
To receive the Glorious One.
Who gives all life, a precious gift
To dance and to sway with.
Oh, how the fields disappear,
When that single rose is near!
The dew from the dawn has settled on
It sparkles like diamonds, then is gone.
A single rose, we await again
Something to nuture and to tend.
But that single rose was rare, indeed.
The deepest of reds, a sight to see!
The last of it's breed, the last of it's kind.
An acceptional find.
We nourish and cultivate and take this one in,
To save it's life blood and preserve it within.
So others can see what was left behind,
A single rose, our rose of all time!
To our "lovely one", Michael
With love, Karen
