Gary City Council Withdraws Ordinances

There's been a setback for supporters of a plan to create memorials to Michael Jackson in Gary Indiana.

The Gary common council withdrew two ordinances Tuesday night that would create two new city departments dedicated to memorializing the King of Pop.

One would work to establish a Michael Jackson Performing Arts Center and the other a Jackson Family Museum.

Mayor Rudy Clay supports the idea.

Council members didn't give a reason why they withdrew the ordinances at this time.
