"Late To The Party"
He took the world by storm.
In the
news throughout the years.
While I
was living my life,
His voice I
didn't always hear.
Caught by surprise one too many
times,
While so many were at their
peak.
I didn't pay enough
attention
To the ones who were most
unique.
Why am I always late to
the party?
Why can't I arrive on
time?
Seems the reasons are always a
question mark
And I just miss the
signs.
Am I doomed to mourn
forever
The loss of those so
dear?
Can I make amends
somehow?
Please make the picture
clear.
Too many shocks to the
system
Can cause the worst
regret.
Will I ever be able to get
over,
And remember what I can't
forget?
Maybe someday I'll know
the answer.
I'll now take my
troubadours to heart.
Let them spread
their magic far and wide
Before it's
their turn to part.
And this time
I won't be late for the party.
I'm
determined to arrive on time.
Please
let me have more clarity now.
I pray
I'll never again be so blind.
