Let’s Create the Biggest Birthday Card in the World for Michael!

The Michael Jackson Tribute Portrait Team has been working on a great way to celebrate Michael's birthday worldwide. The idea is to create the LARGEST digital birthday card ever in celebration of Michael's 52nd birthday.

This is being sponsored by our tribute, but we want to invite fans all over the world to be part of it. The more, the merrier! It's up to each of us to spread the word starting today (Aug. 29 will soon be here)! Let's make it our mission to see how big the card can get. Tell your friends today through e-mail, on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and through all the MJ fan club chats, groups and forums. Ask your friends to tell their friends.

It's free and easy. You can write and design your own digital card and it becomes part of the overall card. The goal is to attract thousands of participants from nearly every country on earth. Partners for the Planet: The MJTP & A Million Trees for Michael

“I love trees. I have a thing for trees. The colors and the changing of the leaves…I love it!” Michael Jackson

The Michael Jackson Tribute Portrait is pleased to announce that we have partnered with A Million Trees for Michael, a group of MJ supporters who share our love and concern for the planet, encouraging us all to plant trees in Michael's name.

A Million Trees for Michael has partnered with American Forests, a non-profit organization that will plant one tree for every $1.00 you donate.  To learn more about this wonderful way to honor Michael Jackson and his dedication to the planet, click here.

Inspiring You, Michael’s Angels, to Help Others

Please watch this video created by Valmai Owens, our Director of Publications.  We hope this video will inspire you to do something – anything – to help. Whether helping the homeless, the elderly, the poor, the hungry, the lonely, animals, victims of abuse, or the planet, no act is too small. We can all make a positive difference in making this world a better place.

Spotlight on David Ilan, MJTP Artist

A few years ago, David was searching for a way to make a positive change in the world.  He wanted to make a difference with his artwork. That’s when he came up with the concept of 1 dot = 1 person. Every project he works on has a charitable wing and each dot he places on his canvas represents a real person.

In addition to the Michael Jackson Tribute Portrait and Points with Purpose, David is embarking on another incredible project. He will be drawing what he refers to as, “The People’s Portrait of Christ.” This project will not take David away from our Tribute or slow our Tribute down in any way.

“I will never stop loving people the way Jesus said to.” -  Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson has spoken many times about the profound impact Jesus had on his life. He tried to emulate him in the way he treated humanity by showing love, kindness and compassion to all. Since David is Jewish, he really wanted to understand exactly why Jesus affects people in the profound way that He does.  In order to find the answer to that question, he started Dots for Jesus.

David said he wants to be enlightened and educated by believers from all over the world – one million of them! As is the case with Michael’s portrait, the portrait of Jesus will take one million dots to complete. If one million people join the project by this Christmas Eve, he will begin the portrait on Christmas Day with the last dot being drawn on Easter Sunday.

The only thing he asks is that everyone who receives a dot attaches a message to their dot that simply answers the question, “Why Jesus?” With each dot David draws, he hopes to come to a closer understanding.

MJTP dot member, recording artist Chris Dane Owens (“Shine On Me”), says, ““What excites me is that it starts with a blank slate on two levels. The Portrait begins as a blank canvas. But the artist, himself, is also a blank slate. He admits he knows very little about Jesus. By inviting Christians to teach him, it will shape his own beliefs. Every Christian should participate and make it their mission to spread the word. Spreading the word about this project is spreading the word about Jesus.”

If you are a member of Facebook, you can help spread the word about Dots For Jesus by taking this easy 5 question poll.
