'Michael And Me', A Poem by Keshia

Michael and Me

He and I have an amazing bond

With our eyes we are one

We both have been things in our childhood

And we were on the verge for our youth

He was born in Gary, Indiana

Date of birth of August 29, 1958

I was born in Zachary, Louisiana

And my date of birth of October 29, 1986

Within Michael’s eyes I’ve placed myself

We have been misunderstood by everyone else

Sensitivity is the one thing we have in common

And we have been pushed from top to bottom

I am more like him and he is more like me

No matter what we are, we are a family

His language Michael means “Most Like God”

And mine for Wykeshia means “Great Joy of God”

He was crowned jeweled as King

With a mind of a Virgo

I was crowned jeweled as the Forever Queen

And I have got a mind of a Scorpio

We were both victims of the world of shame

And we have been called all senseless names

All he wanted to do is heal the world into a better place

And all I wanted to do is focus on making a change.

Now that Michael has gone to glory

It’s up to me to make HIStory

For years I knew our strengths we have had

All I have to do is remembering the times that were good and bad

Michael is the reflection of my eyes

Which I stared in the mirror

With God will take a way my strive

These would be the exact words:

Before you judge me

Try hard to love me

For the painful youth
