Michael Jackson's album 'The Essential Michael Jackson' held on to the top spot in the UK for the fourth week in a row.

Michael Jackson has been number one in the album chart longer than any other artist to date in 2009, as reported by the Official Charts Company.

'The Essential Michael Jackson' and along with 'Number Ones' have been at the top for five weeks, surpassing Lady Gaga, whose album 'The Fame' was number one for four weeks in the UK.

Fans in the UK have been picking up copies of many Michael Jackson albums following his death last month. Currently in the UK Michael Jackson has 10 albums in the top 50.
