Michael Jackson's Family 'Need Answers'

Michael Jackson's family are requesting a second autopsy on the singer because they still have unanswered questions about his death, according to friends.

Clearly they are not satisfied with the results so far," said the Reverend Jesse Jackson following a visit to Jackson's grieving relatives.   "Who was there? Who discovered him? Who said he was unconscious and for how long had he been unconscious?   "Did the doctor give him a shot, and then the person found Michael and called the doctor and the doctor came back and tried to do CPR? We don't know."

Jackson collapsed at his Los Angeles home on Thursday lunchtime. His personal doctor, Conrad Murray - who tried unsuccessfully to resuscitate the star - has now spoken to police in Los Angeles for a second time. His spokeswoman said Dr Murray, accompanied by his attorney, was interviewed for three hours during which he "answered every and all questions".   She stressed that he "is in no way a suspect", adding: "During the meeting Dr Murray helped identify the circumstances around the death of the pop icon and clarified some inconsistencies.

"Dr Murray has been in Los Angeles since the death of Mr Jackson. He rode in the ambulance to the hospital and stayed at the hospital for hours comforting and consoling the Jackson family."   Attention is focusing on the superstar's use of painkillers. LA County medical examiners who completed a first, official autopsy on Friday, confirmed Jackson had taken prescription medication but declined to elaborate further. They added that there was no obvious indication of trauma or foul play but said further tests were necessary to establish a precise cause of death, which could take up to six weeks.

There was no immediate word on when the second autopsy would be performed but a spokesman for the coroner's office confirmed the family had every right to request a second, independent examination of the 50-year-old's body. Meanwhile, the Jackson family has issued a statement expressing its grief and thanking the singer's fans.   "In one of the darkest moments of our lives we find it hard to find the words appropriate to this sudden tragedy we all had to encounter," said the statement. "We miss Michael endlessly."

The Jackson family have gathered at their home in Encino, Los Angeles, to discuss funeral arrangements and care for his three children.
