Terry Fator ‘Does’ Michael Jackson To Help Jerry’s Kids

Terry Fator appeared tonight on the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon, and wowed the audience with his spot-on impression of Michael Jackson singing, “The Girl is Mine.” The highest paid entertainer in Las Vegas once again donated his time and talent to help raise necessary funds to cure muscular dystrophy. The 2007 winner of America’s Got Talent also sang “Brick House” with the Commodores, proving once again that yes, this talented impressionist has talent.

The annual telethon airs in Atlanta on channel 69 tonight through 6:00 PM Monday. It raises critical funds for research to find a cure for the crippling disease, and to provide support for families dealing muscular dystrophy. The champion of MDA is comedian Jerry Lewis, who has hosted the telethon for a remarkable 44 years.

Other celebrities slated to donate their time and talent on the telethon include Clay Aiken, The Backstreet Boys, Garth Brooks, Johnny Carson, Billy Crystal, Michael J. Fox. Jeff Foxworthy, Regis Philbin and hundreds of others.

There are many ways to donate to MDA, including on-line donations and in-person donations. The local broadcast is taking place at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel, and Atlantans are encouraged to drive by and drop their donations into the collection boxes. Also, be on the lookout at major Atlanta intersections for firefighters trying to fill up their boots.

Last year’s total was $65 million, and always Jerry Lewis is looking for “one dollar more.”

PERSONAL NOTE: MDA has always been a personal cause of mine; and I was a phone bank volunteer for many years. Now as a parent, I hug my healthy and happy kids, yet my heart breaks for parents less fortunate, and struggling with this crippling disease. I realize that times are tough, but I encourage you to make a donation, no matter how small.
