Tito Jackson Ready To Rock Chilliwack In Tribute To Brother Michael
VANCOUVER — Michael Jackson will have yet further honours bestowed upon him next summer in Chilliwack.
The fast-growing Fraser Valley city's renowned Indiefest announced Monday that Tito, the famous brother of the deceased King of Pop, will be headed to B.C. in 2010 to perform a tribute show to Michael and the band that gave rise to both their careers, The Jackson 5.
"It will be the first major tribute to Michael featuring a member of the Jackson Familiy and fellow Jackson 5 in Western Canada since Michael's passing," Indiefest announced in a press release.
The festival has not only marshalled Tito to appear, but some other talented musicians will also appear. Confirmed stars include, Julian Austin, The Turnpike Bandits featuring Eric Peterson, Chris LeBlanc, Don Steinback, The Ohio Players, Russ McIvor, Karina Es, Hollywood Assassyn, Black Horse North, Independents For Independence with special Guests the canadian Military Marching Band performing "We Will Be There."
Indiefest 2010 will include party zones, camping and .... wait. The Ohio Players? Yes, Tito doing a Michael tribute and The Ohio Players on the same bill.
The festival will take place next to Dinotown near bridal Falls from July 30 to Aug. 2. Shuttle buses to Cultus Lake will be available.
There will be all sorts of activities for the whole family and solar powered cell phone recharging stations so you can text message votes for your favourites in the Battle of The Indies competition.
