Uri's Kind Words Of Support For A Friend

In an exclusive interview Uri Geller had this to say about his friend Michael "Many reporters in California have been asking me about Michael Jackson. Almost a year after he fled America in the wake of his trial, which left him emotionally and physically shattered despite the ‘not guilty’ verdict, Michael is still one of the most talked-about people in LA.

Everybody wants to know whether he will ever record or perform live again, if it’s true he is teetering on the verge of bankruptcy, and if he has really become a Muslim. Most of all, they want to know when they’ll see him back in the States — and the answer to that, I believe, is never. Michael will find it almost impossible to forgive California, and probably the whole of the US, for his terrifying treatment.

There are constant rumours that he is planning to buy a home in Britain, but I know that would be a disaster for him. The Fleet Street press would hound him, and he wouldn’t be able to step outside his door. Michael might as well live in an underground bunker — I have a nuclear safe room under my house, though even this might not be secure enough to keep the paparazzi out."
