What if?

What if? you’d made the show

Taken it to London with crew in tow

What if? you’d finished them all

So determined not to fall

What if? You’d made it to an all new dimension

A show never seen before leaving us all in suspension

What if? You’d opened our eyes

To the plight of our earth our dying skies

What if? You’d been the light all along

Sending the messages through voice and song

What if? You’d made the comeback of the decade

Maybe your popularity amongst us never did fade

What if? You’d known you were always loved

By everyone around you the lord from above

What if? You’d finally found that peace

The place you’d longed for, rumors to cease

What if? You’d gotten a permanent home

Across the earth you’d no longer roam

What if? “This Is It” was a hit bigger than life

Your dancing on stage again so ripe

What if? The show was such a hit

Would it have been “This Is It”?

What if? You’d have topped “Thriller” and “Billie Jean”

Would you have then stopped and left the scene?

What if? Life would have treated you fair

A life full of only joy and no despair

What if? You really could’ve been Peter Pan

Would you come back to this world again?

What if? Those you’d helped would’ve given back

Not leaving you telling lies all the crap

What if? Your children could’ve seen you in all your glory

It would have been a perfect ending for their bedtime story

What if? We’d only seen you were human a man

That was always your mission always your plan

What if? Your light would be seen by all

All starting when you were so very small
