Who Would Be Your Hero? . Everyone admires somebody, perhaps for something they do, say or believe. My hero is a person I’ve followed almost my entire life. Michael J. Jackson is a legendary King of Pop and an inspiration for me to emulate. I became interested in Michael when I was watching The Jacksons: The American Dream on television. Although I was too young to understand what the singing group was doing, I admired how Michael handled himself on and off the stage. His beauty of his sweet tenor voice was beautiful. When he wore his signature white glitter glove and does the moonwalk, he always seemed to be in an energetic mood. The more I learned about Michael, the more my interest in him grew. Michael devoted much of his own money to many different charities, supported an organization to Africa, and helped many sick children. He also helped benefit many victims of September 11, 2001 and Hurricane Katrina. I honestly was not aware of his charitable side until I did research on him. I followed Michael’s music career until 2009, when he had died of cardiac arrest before he was planning a comeback tour in London. I was terribly hurt and emotional, but devoted enough to know that he had gone too soon. BET, Hollywood 411, and other television stations have shown the complete footage of Michael’s memorial ceremony which was held at The Staple Center in California. Heroes are everywhere, helping worthy causes and providing children with good influences. Not only was Michael an amazing singer, he was a freedom fighter, philanthropist, friendly, kindhearted, loving, and caring icon of the stage. All these traits caught my eye, and that’s why I’m proud and honored Michael Jackson is my hero.
