Final Rehearsal Could Be Released…

According to The Wrap.com, Michael Jackson’s final rehearsal at the Staples Center was recorded in high-definition video and multitrack audio and could be released. The hours-long rehearsal brought together dancers, musicians and aerial performers at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Reportedly the practice run was shot by multiple cameras.

Wednesday’s recording was made as part of deal with concert promotion company AEG Live, which was handling Jackson’s “This Is It” string of 50 shows at London’s O2 Arena. AEG planned to put out an album and DVD of the tour.

AEG’s president and chief executive, Randy Phillips, e-mailed The Wrap that he had no comment on the story. But the site reported an unnamed AEG official told a colleague, “We have a live album in the can.”

There was no word on what songs were recorded in the rehearsal, although it was reported that at one point during the show, Michael was to be suspended from a crane. There was also to be a 3-D sequence involving a haunted house, where the audience would have to don special glasses.
