Zombies Wanted For ‘Thriller’ Record Attempt in St. Petersburg

Dancing zombies will again be moving and grooving to a Michael Jackson classic in St. Petersburg.Thrill St. Pete, the fifth annual local attempt to help break the record for the largest group dancing the routine from Jackson’s “Thriller” video, will happen at Jannus Landing on Oct. 26 at 4 p.m. It’s part of the larger Thrill the World event, which since 2006 has organized groups to simultaneously recreate the dance in cities around the world.People of all ages and skill levels are invited to participate in the dance. Registration is $6 per person at the Dance St. Pete website, with proceeds helping the Pinellas Education Foundation.

Aside from breaking the record for the largest simultaneous “Thriller” dance, the event’s goal is “unity among all the peoples of the world, humanitarianism and environmental stewardship,” a Thrill St. Pete news release said.
