Cleo Higgins moonwalk has mooned walked into her home city and is ready to rock with the hit musical Thriller Live.
The show celebrates the music of Michael Jackson, with whom Cleo says has a lot in common.
Both were child stars, singing in groups with their siblings and managed by their parents.
But Cleo, who shot to fame at 13 in the group Cleopatra, says she wouldn’t want her children to follow her into the music industry.
She was one third of 90s sister act Cleopatra, having three Top Five hits and touring with the Spice Girls.
She returned to the spotlight earlier this year when she was picked by Will.i.am to compete in the BBC1 show The Voice.
She lives with her partner, barber Leo, and has a daughter, 12-year-old Chika, a seven-year-old son TJ and a seven-year-old stepdaughter, Ella.
Cleo is starring in Thriller Live for three weeks from December 17 at the ICC. She is one of four lead singers, and the only female, performing songs like Blame It On The Boogie.
X Factor’s Rachel Adedji is her understudy.
“I’m a huge Michael Jackson fan and I can identify with him,” said Cleo. “We both grew up around music and wanted to be in bands from an early age.
“My mum did a very good job of protecting us, she wouldn’t let us out of her sight, and I’m not sure I could do the same for my children. The music industry can be a frightening world and, although my kids can sing, I’m not sure they have the confidence to make it.”
