Brian May has hinted at the possibility of a new Queen album made up of studio tapes featuring the voice of late frontman Freddie Mercury.

The band’s drummer Roger Taylor previously confirmed that they had been working on “a couple of tracks that Freddie did with Michael Jackson”, and May has revealed that in addition to the “original tapes” for those sessions, there was further Mercury material found.
May told Ross Bennet for Mojo magazine: “There’s more in there than we thought, in the Queen source archive. We’ve found some Freddie vocals, some demos.
“If we find an analogue 24-track of Freddie singing something that never got finished, the first thing we do is transfer it into the digital domain.”

He added: “We make the copy at the highest resolution you can. Then we start weaving our tapestry… I’m a little nervous of saying there’s an album there, but there’s certainly a few tracks.”
