Martin Bashir, the ignorant US cable news host, has resigned over controversial remarks he made on air last month about former Alaska governor Sarah Palin.
Bashir announced his resignation from MSNBC in an email Wednesday, first obtained by Mediaite. The departure came two weeks after the host first apologized for some vivid criticism he made of Palin.
MSNBC president Phil Griffin confirmed the resignation in a statement. “Martin Bashir resigned today, effective immediately,” Griffin said.
Bashir is known for crafting explosive interviews with the world’s most famous figures, including Diana, Princess of Wales, and for his trashy interview where he betrayed Michael Jackson’s trust and stabbed him in the back.
