THE musical is set to be revived by music producer David Gest after he tracked down the songs written by Michael Jackson. THE late King of Pop Michael Jackson has inspired a new musical based on the life and works of Robert Burns. The Thriller icon had wanted to showcase the poetry of the national Bard on stage in the 90s, along with childhood pal, music producer David Gest. Glasgow-born actor John Barrowman had been tipped to play the lead .
Now, 20 years on, the show is set to be revived by Gest after he tracked down the songs by Jackson. Gest said: “I found the recordings from that time about four months ago. It’s going to be a different play but it is still going to be the story of Burns. “Work is under way on a revised script and soundtrack.” Casting for One Fond Kiss will begin at the end of the month and the show is expected to open in Lossiemouth next year.
