Ian Brown, lead singer of 80′s UK band The Stone Roses, will release a new Michael Jackson inspired album sometime in September. The singer’s sixth solo album will be titled “My Way.”
Brown explained that the album was mainly inspired by Michael’s monster hit album “Thriller.” He said that the final day of mixing took place on June 25, the day Michael passed away.
Brown said,
“Thriller’ was our blueprint. Every time we wrote a song, if we didn’t think it was strong enough, we scrapped it. We mastered it on the day that Michael Jackson died, too. So I’m taking that as a good omen.”
“My Way” was recorded at Manchester’s Battery Studios with Dave McCracken producing and will include a lead single titled “Stellify,” which will be out on September 21.
