If He’s A Doctor, Why Did Michael Die? - Jermaine Jackson

JERMAINE Jackson wept last night as he opened his heart for the first time about losing his brother Michael - and his feelings towards the tragic star’s doctor, Conrad Murray.

He told The Sun: “A doctor is supposed to keep someone healthy - but Michael went from good health to death in the space of one day.”

Jermaine, 54 - Michael’s former Jackson 5 bandmate - made a heartbreaking plea for answers to the questions surrounding his brother’s mysterious death.

He begged: “Somebody is responsible. Don’t let it be a mystery forever.”

And he told of his feelings when he came face to face with Dr Murray - the last person to see Michael alive on June 25, the day he died aged 50. Jermaine revealed: “The first time I met Dr Murray was at the hospital.

“I didn’t feel good when I saw him because I felt that if he was a doctor, why was Michael not here? Why was Michael dead?”

“But everything will come out. I feel that God put Michael here to do good - and he’s not going to leave that chapter unfinished.”

“I really feel that at the end of the day there will be clarity as to what happened.”

“What we don’t want, and what I can’t have, is for Michael’s passing to be a mystery forever.”

Dr Murray was Michael’s private doctor and living at his rented Holmby Hills home in Los Angeles when he died - but his attempts to revive the Thriller singer failed.

Police have spoken to Dr Murray about his actions in the hours and weeks before Michael’s death.

The night before he died Michael was rehearsing for his London O2 comeback shows at LA’s Staples Center.

His dancers and production team said he was fit and in good spirits.

But he is believed to have taken the potent painkiller Demerol and dangerous sedative Propofol shortly before he collapsed in cardiac arrest.

The nature of drugs prescribed by Dr Arnold Klein, Michael’s dermatologist for more than 20 years, is also being investigated.

Jermaine - the closest to Michael of all his brothers - believes justice will be done, so the superstar can be remembered for his musical legacy.

He went on: “The doctors need to be looked at, I did not know these guys. But I’m sure they are all under investigation.”

“I have a dear friend who is in the police and there are investigations going on. I’m sure they are going to get to the bottom of it.”

“Somebody is responsible - that doesn’t just happen. Someone is responsible and that’s why there are ongoing investigations.”

Softly-spoken Jermaine, a devout Muslim, will not throw around any accusations of murder until he knows the facts about Michael’s death.

He said: “I have no idea what happened in those 24 hours. They talk about painkillers and all that kind of stuff but I am uneducated when it comes to any of that.”

“I haven’t heard any toxicology reports yet and I wouldn’t call it anything until we find out what the reports say and until the conclusion of the investigation.”

“I know my sister La Toya said she thought it was murder and that is how she’s taking it. That’s her emotions speaking out and my father has said things because he lost a son.”

“I say wait to see what the toxicology report says, then go from there.”

“If there’s foul play, investigators can track back and see what happened. If it was murder, then who did it?”

“My question is, why would anyone want to murder Michael Jackson - one of the most wonderful people who have ever walked this earth?”

If the investigations do find someone directly responsible for Michael’s death, it will only add to Jermaine’s pain.

said: “I would feel like anyone else would feel who lost their brother by someone else’s hands. I would feel very angry and hurt.”

Jermaine is now desperate for the mystery surrounding his brother’s death to be put to rest, so he can rest in peace.

He said: “What I would like is for people to remember who he is and his goodness - doing God’s work through his music.”

“I look at Michael as a gift from God who was put here to do a service to the people and he did it through his craft, his music.”

“If you look at everything that he has done, it was all to bring good and happiness to people. It wasn’t about the money, the success. None of that.”

“I don’t want the mystery over what happened to become what people remember. I want him to be remembered as the most incredible human being.”

“But I know his goodness will override whatever circumstances he was put in to leave this earth.”

“I know Michael is in heaven. Now it is up to us as a family to carry on the legacy of Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5.”

“We have to continue to make the impossible possible and to continue to reach higher, further than your arm can extend.”

“That’s what Michael was about. He always wanted to give more.”
