AEG Live to put Michael Jackson on trial in own death

Los Angeles (CNN) — Michael Jackson’s last concert promoter will defend itself in a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the pop icon’s family by arguing that Jackson was responsible for his own demise.

Child molestation accusations against Jackson, for which he was acquitted after a trial, and evidence of his drug addiction will likely be presented by AEG Live’s lawyers as they argue that the company had no liability in his death.

The Jackson v. AEG Live trial, which could last two or three months, begins in a Los Angeles courtroom Tuesday.

Jackson died two weeks before his “This Is It” comeback concerts, organized by AEG Live, were to have debuted in London in the summer of 2009.

“I don’t know how you can’t look to Mr. Jackson’s responsibility there,” AEG lawyer Marvin Putnam said. “He was a grown man.” Putnam was interviewed for “Michael Jackson: The Final Days,” a CNN documentary that will premiere at 10 p.m. Friday.

“Mr. Jackson is a person who was known to doctor shop,” Putnam said. “He was known to be someone who would tell one doctor one thing and another doctor something else.”

The child molestation trial is relevant because it “resulted in an incredible increase in his drug intake,” Putnam said.

aeg is pathetic, using false allegations against MJ. He isn’t here to defend himself against this, so unfair!

Let’s demand accuracy by the media this time while they are covering the AEG trial. They need to make up for the horrible job they did in presenting MJ to the world. If they lie, exaggerate, falsify, mislead, hype, under report the positive on MJ, let’s blast them.

We’re always going to be there for Michael and, apart from his children; we’re the only ones I feel sometimes actually ever truly gave a flying f*** about this beautiful man as a human being and the greatest artist ever known!

Stupid people, Michael was no drug addict. Look at this man in This Is It, and tell me, does a drug addict look like that? AEG put him trough physical routine and tests before approving him to do the concerts, and found him perfectly healthy. This thing just doesn’t make any sense. AND, Michael always said he wasn’t doing drugs, he was firmly against it, said he cared too much for his kids to do this kind of stuff. As we know him, he is not the one to do drugs anyway. If you don’t believe me, listen to Michael’s audio interview on his 45 birthday - he said then that his health was perfect, and that people get sick because they use stuff to get them sick - like drugs, alcohol etc. So stop spreading these tabloid lies!!!

I agree Maria. I’m sharing this so that the fans know, (and can prepare the best that they can), for what lay ahead. I know what Michael said during his 45th Birthday party, because I worked at his party with the MJWN team. It was a beautiful speech he gave and I’m glad I was there to see it first hand. He’s so innocent in all this. The poor man can’t even get rest in his grave. Hopefully God will shield him from what’s happenning. Unfortunately, God cannot shield the children and Katherine. We pray for their strength during this difficult time.

Typical media reports it all wrong and no doubt YOU love the Jacksons for giving you more CRAP to print about Michael! Whatever figure they get after letting the REAL killer (Murray) off restitution just proves to me that his no-count “family” only ever cared about getting money from Michael (however that was achieved!) and using him as a convenient ATM machine/lifetime business proposition! The true emotional cost of putting Prince, Paris and Blanket through the harrowing details of their Daddy’s last days and dragging Michael’s name/memory and legacy through the mud YET AGAIN is never going to amount to “Justice for Michael” no matter how much the greedy siblings, parents and ass-wiping “fans” of Michael like to try and excuse/justify it!!!

Sue, I understand your compassion for this isssue. I am not an ‘As*wiping fan, this I can assure you. I am doing my job, posting what I feel needs to be shared as we ALL venture into this AEG trial together. It’s happening whether we like it or not and I aim to give the fans a safe place to go to read what is happenning day by day. I know you love Michael dearly as I do. Let’s try and bare with this trial as best we can and try to share only the facts. God bless you my friend. <3 - MJ-Upbeat (Bonnie Lamrock)

Try going to read the coroners report and you will see exactly how wrong you are about Michael being an “addict”! Who are you listening to? The greedy siblings who want the world to believe Michael was “stoned” while writing his will so it could be passed off as “fake” just because they were left no money by “nasty” Michael! smh! :

Michael was not a drug addict and even if he were it does not mean that AEG should get a free pass. If anything Michael was surrounded by people who did not have his best interest at heart. AEG saw Michael as just business, they knew they would make money of of him wheter or not that he died. They clearly did not care!
