But nowadays, singers and even rappers are lip-syncing and the power of a good performance is somewhat lost on a generation blinded by iPhones in the air. Michael, like his predecessors, set the standard for what a live performance should look, feel and sound like. From elaborate stage designs to the infamous gush of wind that would blow his white button-down shirt open, audience members were either at a loss for words or passed out.
