I’m in Las Vegas and it’s incredibly hot… 40 Degrees! The Nevada desert surrounds Las Vegas… it looks like an oasis that appears out of nowhere… the weather is always good here, 300 days of sunshine out of 365!
I was invited by my friend Guy Laliberté, president and founder of Cirque Du Soleil, to attend the opening night of the MICHAEL JACKSON ONE show which is presented by the Cirque Du Soleil at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
I arrived in Las Vegas one day in advance for some business meetings. Las Vegas is a very interesting place… “The entertainment capital of the world…”
But I want to tell you about Michael Jackson and this fantastic show, Michael Jackson ONE.
I met Michael Jackson several times. His creative genius, his vision and his message of unity, harmony and hope for a better world have always resonated with me. I remember when he said to me “we need to give love and remind everyone of the importance of love…“, a thought that I have always shared…
Michael was an artist who was always been ahead of his time. Even today his music is still so present, his musical genius is not affected by the passage of time…
I spoke with Michael by phone a week before his tragic death, he was fine, I still remember his typical way of speaking with his soft voice…
The show created by Cirque du Soleil in his honor is absolutely stupendous! I have never seen a show so unique… an audio-visual experience! Sounds… colors… lasers… special effects… its cast of talented artists transported me through the most important moments in Michael Jackson’s career…
This is a show that I recommend you to see… you’ll be amazed!
