UNITED STATES- There really isn’t any other award giving body in the music industry that is more prestigious, meaningful and important as the Grammy Awards.
As far as I can remember, the Grammy Awards have also become the pedestal from which future music icons’ careers take off. There are also special moments during the Awards nights that viewers continue to remember even after many years. A perfect example of this would be the time the late Michael Jackson took home a total of 8 Grammys in the 26th Annual Grammy Awards.
Micheal Jackson was to be the very first artist to win 8 Grammys in a single night.
His record breaking achievement was matched years later in the year 2000 by guitarist extraordinaire Carlos Santana.
The second highest number of awards that an artist has won in a night which has come closest to matching this amazing feat by the late “King of Pop” was by Beyonce who took home a total of 6 awards in 2010.
This was to be followed and tied by Adele in 2012 when the sultry English songstress also got to bag 6 awards.
