It’s no secret, (despite a few twisted comment’s by the media), that Michael Jackson loved his animals and treated them with care, especially Bubbles.
.
Michael loved the helpless and innocent creature’s of this world. His prized pet Bubbles was treated like a member of the family.
.
Bubbles was born in Texas, 1983. He was initially kept at the Jackson family’s home in Encino, but was moved to Neverland Ranch in 1988. There, he slept in a crib in Jackson’s bedroom, used the singer’s toilet and ate candy in the Neverland movie theater! Now ‘THATS’ Love!
.
Michael took Bubbles on outings and would often talk to him much like you would a friend. Bubbles sat in for the recording of the Bad album— Jackson had insisted that the chimpanzee and his pet snake attend as spectators—and accompanied Jackson for the filming of the “Bad” music video.
.
In the short film for “Liberian Girl”, Bubbles made a cameo appearance. When the Bad World Tour kicked off in September, 1987, he and the singer shared a two-bedroom hotel suite in Tokyo. During the tour, Bubbles and Jackson made a social visit to the Mayor of Osaka, Yasushi Oshima. There, the chimpanzee drank Japanese green tea while seated quietly next to Jackson. Afterward, Oshima commented that he and his fellow officials were “surprised to see the chimpanzee, but we understand he is [Michael's] good friend”. He continued, “This is the first time an animal ever entered City Hall.” Though allowed to travel to Japan, the chimpanzee was unable to enter Britain and Sweden due to strict quarantine laws. .
Jackson also brought Bubbles along for tea at Elizabeth Taylor’s house. Taylor did not mind the fact that Jackson had brought a chimpanzee. Later, at a party to celebrate and promote Bad, Bubbles reportedly “worked the room” and was “the life of the party”.
.
As Chimpanzees grow older they become aggressive and so it was decided that it would be in the better interest of Bubbles, (shortly after Prince was born), to move him to a sanctuary so he could be cared for by professionals.
.
According to CNN, the chimpanzee would be visited by Jackson and his children, who also played with the other animals while at the Californian ranch.
.
In 2004 Bubbles was moved to the Center for Great Apes in Wauchula, Florida, where he is said to enjoy painting and listening to flute music. The center for apes, where the annual care for each animal costs around $17,000 as of 2009, also houses 41 other chimpanzees and orangutans.
.
Patti Ragan, director for the Center for Great Apes, commented on the animals’ daily routine at the sanctuary. “They relax. They take naps together. They might go up in the top of the cupola. They go out in the chutes and lie under a tree in the tunnel system. They groom each other and they fight and they have arguments, too.” According to animal keepers at the center, the 160 pound (73 kg) Bubbles— whose facial features have changed since his time with Jackson— is now “huge” but has a “sweet character”. The ape now spends most of his time sitting quietly in trees with his best friend Sam, a 40-year-old chimpanzee.
.
Animal trainer Dunn, speaking to the News of the World, stated that the chimpanzee would miss Jackson. “Bubbles definitely missed him when they parted and will miss him now that Michael has past away. Chimpanzees are intelligent. They remember people. Bubbles and Michael were close friends and playmates. The last time Michael visited, Bubbles definitely recognized and remembered him.” He revealed that Bubbles was thought of by the singer as his first child, and added that he hoped Jackson’s children would keep in touch with their “stepbrother” following their father’s death.
.
Michael would never hurt an animal, and if he knew of any abuse, he would put a halt to it. He had a heart of gold, defending and protecting animals and children. Anyone who knows Michael, knows this to be true.
“It has been disturbing to hear accusations of Mr. Jackson abusing Bubbles, particularly since he is not here to defend himself. One has to question the timing of such an accusation, and unsolicited. We all know there is a big difference between abusing and disciplining. I am sure if Mr. Jackson were alive, he would unequivocally deny the accusations, because abuse and Michael Jackson are not even synonymous to each other. Mr. Jackson spoke lovingly to me regarding his animals, including Bubbles.
.
“Bubbles lived life better than most humans under Michael’s care…even having drank tea with Heads of State. The Michael Jackson I knew loved his animals. The Michael Jackson I knew couldn’t even kill a mosquito without feeling bad about it.
.
“In fact, while not living at Neverland, Mr. Jackson spent upwards of $200K a month to maintain Neverland, and to provide care for his beloved animals. He refused to sell them for a long, long time, despite urging of his financial advisors, because he loved them so much. He paid a vet, who took good care of all of his animals, until he could relocate them.
.
“There were never any accusations of animal abuse. In addition, he had a very professional and capable Ranch manager, in his longtime employee and friend, Joe Marcus, who made sure Mr. Jackson’s property and animals received A-1 treatment. When his cash flow no longer allowed for the animals to remain at Neverland, he found a safe, loving environment for them. I make this point for the haters.
.
“I, and others who worked for Michael Jackson, find it unbelievable that he abused Bubbles…especially when he couldn’t kill a fly. I remember the savage attack by a chimp in Connecticut, who like Bubbles, I believe was a pet, too. Thank God Bubbles attacked no one, including Mr. Jackson.
.
“But, I find Ms. Goodall’s conversation ironic in that Bubbles continues to enjoy, what is reported, a good life in Florida, while regrettably, Mr. Jackson has passed on. I think people need sometimes to think, while putting things in proper perspective.”

Great job!! This whole story is complete hogwash!! While I’m not a particular fan of RBain, I greatly appreciate her speaking up for Michael in this Bubbles abuse chicanery. I’m very disappointed in J Goodall – for all the good she’s done for animals – to allow this to continue. She cld stop this but she doesn’t. When I read that she urged Michael to do a benefit or write a song (Heal the World, I believe) and give part of the proceeds to her foundation and he ended up using the proceeds to begin his Heal the World Foundation - which he had every right to do - I wondered then if she’s been angry w/ him for some time. She KNOWS Michael wld never hurt his animals. And why was TMZ talking to her while she was sitting in a car?? A little suspicious, I wld say. “Did Michael teach him to dance?” Please!!
They are behind this continual stream of garbage and I am sick to death of it!
It’s people like you that give me have the fight to continue. Other sites have dropped out, but no matter what my struggle,, I keep trying. When I hear that a fan loves what I do, I feel good. That’s my goal. <3 Thanks my friend.

You are welcome but the thanks go to you for all the work you do - which I’m sure at times when it’s not easy - to keep fighting for Michael. Will you be in LA this year?
