Michael Jackson has been recognized throughout his life for his accomplishments, and six years after his death the honorarium fires are still burning.
Over the month of April, headlines related to Michael Jackson have been particularly popular due to an archive of unpublished interviews that included the King of Pop. However, the celebration of Michael Jackson’s life, death and achievements may not take the forms fans would first expect.
The good news is — everyone is invited to these Michael Jackson parties! On top of that, there is a circus involved!
Announced in March, the invitation is still open for the One Rose for Michael Jackson event. Promoted by a large & devoted fan group called ‘One Rose for Michael Jackson’. You can purchase one of the roses from a separate website via Paypal for $3 per rose.
Betty Byrnes blog, Michaels Heart also takes donations for the roses placed on Michael Jackson’s grave each year on June 25. The last day to buy roses is June 18. (Also promoted on The Michael Jackson World Network / MJ Fans Of Southern California / MJ-UPBEAT.COM)
In 2013, 13,447 red roses were placed on his grave by the One Rose for Michael Jackson organization. However, the roses do not stay on Michael Jackson’s grave for very long.
Betty Byrne states, “On June 26 in keeping with Michaels message we pay it forward, a large percentage of the roses are donated to various charities as well as being placed for the children within Forest Lawn.”
Are you curious about what the bed of roses will look like at Michael Jackson’s grave? Each year, the organizers of the One Rose for Michael Jackson event gather in Forest Lawn in Hollywood Hills, California to decorate the grave — and they record the day on video.
The roses, arranged in vases as far as the eye can see, are interspersed among other private shrines and tributes that fans leave behind. The One Rose for Michael Jackson group also shows how the roses are placed on the graves of babies on June 26.

For fans wanting to get more involved with the One Rose for Michael Jackson organization, they have a closed Facebook community that you can join.
Celebrating the life of Michael Jackson does not end there. Michael Jackson was born on August 29, 1958 and Las Vegas makes sure that you have an invitation to celebrate his life on his birthday. Announced on Michael Jackson’s Official Website Michaeljackson.com & Vegas News in mid-April, the circus will be a big part of Michael Jackson-themed party. The Estate of Michael Jackson invites any fans to purchase tickets to the Michael Jackson ONE Theatre at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on August 29 from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Weekend packages that include a gift bag (and many more luxury-style fan treats) are also being exclusively offered to Michael Jackson fans starting at $72 per night. What is exciting is that the entertainment for Michael Jackson’s birthday party is the world-famous circus — Cirque du Soleil! Could this get any better?
Included in the Mandalay Michael Jackson package are exclusive birthday activities throughout the day.
Last year, guests that bought the Mandalay birthday package had activities that included a “private ‘meet & greet’ [questions and answers] cocktail reception with representatives of the Estate.” Michael Jackson fans that purchased the package also met a long list of Michael Jackson-related entourage members such as producer Rodney Jerkins, author Zack O’Malley Greenburg, biographer Michael Bush, and the creative team behind the documentary for XSCAPE.
To see footage from the performances at the 2014 Michael Jackson birthday party in Las Vegas, the Michael Jackson website has an official video archive.
To keep up with the details, changes, and memorabilia updates, the Michael Jackson birthday celebration has an official Facebook event invitation you can join. Tickets to the event are not sold on Facebook and should be purchased through the special Michael Jackson birthday party event page through the Cirque de Soleil website. The weekend package at special rates to stay at Mandalay Bay are also found on the Cirque de Soleil website.

Thank you so much for sharing Bonnie, it’s always fantastic that all MJ fans keep abreast of so many of these cherished events. Not to mention your incredible contribution through the array of photos you supply. I’ve had a rough time on Facebook (as you’re aware by now) and this is just the perfect way to put a smile on my face.
Thank you Dorita. You always know how to make a person feel good. I’ve really been debating on whether I’m making much of a difference at all. I don’t feel like I am… but your comment helped me to feel as if someone knows MJ-Upbeat even exists. I’m having a bad day. Thank you for lifting my spirits. <3
Dear Bonnie,
I always enjoy my regular visits to MJ Upbeat to see the features and photographs of past events. I appreciate what you are doing. I am looking forward to reading the one about Michael and Lisa right now.
Awe, thank you Nina. I appreciate your kindness. I was just having a bad day. I may shut down the site someday though. It’s been 12 years and since I’m almost 50 years young I was thinking it might betime for me to retire the site. I work on it more hours than not and it takes a lot of my time from my hubby and daughters, besides, I truly feel I’m not making as much of a difference as I used to. Social media is where most fans go nowadays. I’m just gonna take each day as it comes. I’ve invested so much of my love and time to running my site so I’m definitely gonna think long and hard before making any decisions.
Thanks for listening my friend. And thank you so much for visiting my site.
You’re welcome Bonnie, glad I made you feel better too.
