KOTA TINGGI: Hoping to emulate Michael Jackson’s efforts in saving Mother Nature through his hit, Earth Song, a local school teacher wants to spread awareness on global warming and climate change through his compositions.
Ismail Hassan, who teaches at SK Laksamana here, said that music has been his passion since he was a young boy.
He added that he had written songs for many schools in the district but never about the environment.
“I have also entered my songs for district and state-level competitions”, he said.
Ismail, who has more than 25 years of teaching experience, said that he decided to write songs about environmental issues after seeing cases of pollution highlighted in the media.
He said he was “inspired” to write his song after seeing rubbish along the riverbed near his school and the pollution caused by vehicles on the road.
Ismail hopes the song, Cintai Alam Sekitar (Love The Environment), will strike a chord with others concerned about global warming and climate change.
