It’s a big weekend for Modern Times Beer; founder Jacob McKean is just putting the finishing touches on the tasting room in their new Point Loma brewery, which is scheduled to welcome beer drinkers starting Friday at noon.
The brewery, “Lomaland Fermatorium”, will be open daily from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.. A white marble-topped tasting bar has a front made of old books and oh yeah, there’s that 21-foot-high mosaic, painstakingly hand constructed from 10,000-plus Post-it Notes, that pays homage to the now-legendary Jeff Koons sculpture of Michael Jackson and his beloved pet monkey, Bubbles.
