Today In Michael Jackson History (June 3rd)

1992 - Operation One To One, an organization concerned with the betterment of youth, honours Michael with an award recognizing his efforts in helping disadvantaged youth.

1972 - ‘I Wanna Be Where You Are’ enters the Black singles chart. It peaks at number 2 and remains on the charts for twelve weeks. ‘Lookin’ Through The Windows’ (LP) by The Jackson 5, released on May 17 by Motown Records, enters the Pop albums chart peaking at number 7 and remains on the charts for thirty-three weeks. ‘Got To Be There’ (LP) enters the Top 50 albums chart in Britain peaking at number 37 and remains on the charts for five weeks.

1979 - The Jacksons perform in concert in Columbia, South Carolina.

1990 - Michael arrives at St. John’s Hospital and Health Center emergency room complaining of severe chest pains. The incident occurred whilst he was rehearsing at his Encino home and sparks rumours that Michael has suffered a heart attack.

1988 - ‘Michael Jackson: The Legend Continues…’ is released by Motown Video and within days becomes Britain’s fastest-selling video.

2005 - Thomas Mesereau continues with his closing statement to the jury before the judge gives them their instructions and they retire to consider their verdict. Michael is allowed to return to Neverland with his family, on the understanding that he would be given one hour’s notice of the jury reaching their verdict.
